Simple Version: Guava reads Tekmetric repair estimates when you click "Show Me What to Say" and uses Anthropic's Claude AI to generate sales scripts. We store your activation code and shop settings locally on your device. We don't collect personal customer data, browsing history, or sell your information to anyone.
🔍What We Collect
1. Authentication Information
When you activate Guava, we collect and store:
- Activation Code: Your Stripe customer ID (format: cus_XXXXXXXXXXXXXX) to verify you're authorized to use the extension
- Shop Domain: Your Tekmetric shop URL path to ensure you're using Guava at your licensed location
Why we need it: To validate your license and prevent unauthorized usage across multiple shops.
Where it's stored: Locally on your device using Chrome's storage API. Not transmitted to external servers except during initial activation validation.
2. Website Content (Tekmetric Estimate Data)
When you click "Show Me What to Say," we read visible content from the current Tekmetric estimate page including:
- Vehicle year, make, and model
- Recommended repair services and descriptions
- Labor hours and costs
- Parts pricing
- Customer concerns noted by technicians
- Total estimate amount
Why we need it: This repair data is sent to our AI service to generate a personalized sales script specific to that estimate.
What we don't collect: Customer names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, payment information, or any personally identifiable information about your customers.
3. Shop Settings (Optional)
You can optionally provide:
- Your shop's website URL
- Warranty terms (e.g., "5 year, 60,000 mile nationwide warranty")
- Financing options (e.g., "6 months no interest financing")
- Transportation services (e.g., "Free Lyft rides")
Why we need it: These benefits are incorporated into your generated sales scripts to highlight your shop's unique value propositions.
Where it's stored: Locally on your device. You can edit or delete these anytime through the extension settings.
4. UI Preferences

Why we need it: To remember your customization preferences.
Where it's stored: Locally in your browser using localStorage.
🤖How We Use Your Data
AI Script Generation
When you click to generate a sales script, here's what happens:
- The extension reads the Tekmetric estimate page content
- This data is sent to our Cloudflare Workers backend
- Our backend forwards it to Anthropic's Claude API
- Claude generates a conversational sales script
- The script is returned to you and displayed in the extension
Important: The repair data is used ONLY to generate your script. It is not stored, logged, or used for any other purpose. Anthropic's API processes the request and returns the script - that's it.
License Validation
Your activation code and shop domain are verified through our Google Apps Script backend to ensure:
- Your activation code is valid
- You're using Guava at your authorized shop location
- You haven't exceeded your license count if you have multiple shops
🔒Third-Party Services
Anthropic (Claude API)
We use Anthropic's Claude language model to generate sales scripts from repair data. Claude processes the repair information you send and returns a formatted script. According to Anthropic's data usage policies for API customers, they do not use data submitted via their API to train their models.

Google Apps Script
We use Google Apps Script to validate activation codes and manage license verification. This service receives your activation code and shop domain to verify authorization.
Cloudflare Workers
Our backend infrastructure runs on Cloudflare Workers, which securely routes requests between the extension and Anthropic's Claude API. This keeps our API keys secure and prevents unauthorized access.
🚫 What We DON'T Do
- We don't collect personal customer information - No names, addresses, phone numbers, or emails from your customers
- We don't track your browsing - We only access Tekmetric pages when you explicitly click to generate a script
- We don't sell your data - Ever. To anyone. For any reason.
- We don't run background processes - The extension is completely inactive until you choose to use it
- We don't store repair data - Estimates are processed in real-time and not retained
- We don't access other websites - Only Tekmetric pages when generating scripts
⏱️Data Retention
Stored Locally (Until You Delete It):
- Activation code
- Shop domain
- Shop settings (website, warranty, financing, transportation)
- UI preferences (button position)
You can delete all locally stored data at any time by clicking "Reset Everything" in the extension settings.
Processed in Real-Time (Not Stored):
- Tekmetric estimate data sent to generate scripts
- Generated sales scripts returned from AI
This data is processed immediately when you request a script and is not logged, saved, or retained by our servers or Anthropic.

- Delete your data: Use the "Reset Everything" button in settings to clear all stored information
- Control what's shared: The extension only works when you explicitly click to generate a script
